Resources & Facilities
The Department of Occupational Therapy is located on Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus. The Department of Occupational Therapy currently occupies 11 rooms on the fifth floor (Rms. 510-514, 519-521 & 527) and 3 offices on the second floor of the 6 story William Zeckendorf Health Sciences Center. We also have an anatomy and neuroscience laboratory that is shared with the other health professions. Other laboratory (i.e., research labs, etc.) and classroom space is available within the University.
Our classrooms/labs are furnished with state of the art equipment and projectors for multimedia access to resources for all students and faculty. We have a mobile computer lab with 35 Macintosh computers equipped with advance software to facilitate instruction and project development. Students and faculty have access to this lab during the Departments’ operating hours.
Research Laboratory: A state-of-the-art research laboratory is available to all faculty members and students for their research projects. The lab is equipped with video cameras, microphones, computers and video processing software and hardware that allows for detailed video-coding and analysis. The lab is also equipped with furniture and assessment material to perform ADL and IADL, motor, sensory, cognitive and adaptive behavior assessments and tasks. The laboratory is located at 9 Hanover Place, 2nd Floor, Room 217.
