Accounting Information Systems (ACCX 712)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. The class is an examination of accounting systems from the point of view of their objectives: effective internal control and integration with the total information system. Includes a review of computer-based information systems and their applications to new or revised systems of accounting.

Internal Auditing (ACCX 735)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. The class is an examination of the principles of internal auditing as they apply to large corporate enterprise.

Advanced Cost/Mangerial Accounting (ACCX 737)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. The class will examine selected cases and problems that provide the forum for the discussion of current cost concepts and their applications and limitations. The aim is to develop students' ability to analyze business problems and to make decisions concerning the appropriateness of cost-accounting methods in specific situations.

Financial Statement Analysis (ACCX 742)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. The class is an analysis of financial trends and corporate reports for solvency, quality of earnings and forecasting implications. Analytical techniques for financial analysis and their use in development of capital markets and instruments are reviewed and discussed, as are the principles and practices of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Fraud Examination (ACCX 754)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. The class is a review of nature of fraud, elements of fraud, fraud prevention, fraud detection, fraud investigation, design and use of controls to prevent fraud, and methods of fraud resolution are examined in this course. The role of fraud examination to perform a variety of antifraud and forensic accounting engagements including, but not limited to, investigating suspected fraud, investigating assertions of fraud, developing fraud loss estimates and performing acquisition due diligence are also considered.

Investigative Techniques & Legal Enviroment (ACCX 758)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. This course will introduce the student to proven forensic investigative techniques, such as document analysis, interview application, net worth method, public records, searches, invigilation, and surveillance.  The course will also provide an overview of the criminal and civil justice systems as they relate to fraud trials with an emphasis on the principles of evidence, expert witnessing and litigation support.  This course will be supplemented via case studies, practical exercises and mock interviews.

International Accounting (ACCX 770)

This is a continuing professional education course for CPAs. The class will provide insight into the international accounting environment from the viewpoint of the U.S.-based multinational organization.
