Events & Announcements

Special events involving invited speakers and other presentations and performances are sponsored regularly by the department. The annual Africa Forum and Asia Forum events were orginiated in the department and continue to be coordinated by department faculty.

Some of these special events are offered as one-credit courses. Students should contact the department for information about upcoming special events and one-credit course opporutnities.

Afro-Caribbean Music and Dance

Several Gran Bombazo dancing and drumming events have have been organized by department faculty and held at Long Island University’s Luntey Commons.
