Course of Study
Political Science majors should consult regularly with their academic adviser to develop a plan of study that is tailored to their individual circumstances.
Students are encouraged to take Political Science 11 in the first or second year. Political Science 185 is the senior seminar and must be taken in senior year. Either Political Science 150 (World Politics) or 151 (U.S. Foreign Policy) is required for all students, as is Political Science 170 or 171 (Classical or Modern Political Theory). Six more elective courses are required for the major and should be chosen in such a way that all four subfields of the discipline (American politics, comparative politics, international relations and political theory) have been covered by the time of graduation.
