Graduating with Honors
Students earn the certification of General University Honors Program on their transcript and diploma by completing the Freshman Sequence Honors courses, any additional Honors equivalents of the humanities and social science core requirements and at least three Honors Advanced Electives (100-level Honors seminars), while maintaining a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 and good standing in the Program. Transfer students and those who already have completed most of their core distribution requirements earn Honors certification by completing their remaining lower-division requirements in Honors and by taking four Honors Advanced Electives. All Honors students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0. In addition to Honors certification on the transcript and diploma, and recognition in the official Commencement program distributed at the graduation ceremony, graduating Honors students may receive special recognition at the University Awards Day ceremony on the eve of graduation.
