Program Requirements

To major in Modern Languages with a concentration in Spanish, a student must complete 24 credits in Spanish and 6 credits of distribution requirements at the 100 level or above. To qualify for these courses, a student must have completed a year of intermediate Spanish (either SPA 31 and 32 or SPA 50 and 51), show proficiency beyond the intermediate level or obtain special permission from the department chair. Students interested in majoring in Foreign Languages and Literature with a concentration in Spanish and French should see the department chair to design a customized course of study tailored to their individual needs and interests.
