LIU Brooklyn’s Teacher Resource Center, a program of the School of Education, is located at the Library Learning Center (LLC) on the 2nd Floor. By providing teaching resources and professional development to pre- and in-service teachers, the TRC aims to develop their capacity to create meaningful, inquiry-based curriculum that responds to the unique needs of each student.
The TRC is accessible on weekdays for students and teachers to drop in, browse available resources, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, and meet with other members of the LIU community. Throughout the year the TRC offers regularly scheduled workshops and institutes that address issues of curriculum and pedagogy and help teachers to enhance and individualize instruction.

The TRC library now offers ELECTRONIC CHECKOUT. Going forward, all books borrowed from the TRC must be checked out using the electronic system. If you are an LIU SoE student, your name is already in the library database, and you are eligible to check out books at the desk or use the self-checkout/self-check-in computer.
The library has over 3,000 titles, including:
You can search the collection online anytime using the Open Public Access Catalogue and then visit the library to check out books using the dedicated TRC library computer. Also note that the "links" tab in the OPAC offers several databases specializing in children's literature as well as links to the Brooklyn Public Library's collection.
Please stop by and browse the collection. Help us keep it organized and professional by returning books within two weeks and using the return cart rather than reshelving books. Hope to see you soon.
Programming at the TRC is supported by a grant from the Tietz Family Foundation.
