Dr. Samstag joined the Psychology Department faculty at LIU Brooklyn in the fall of 1999. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York in 1998, and is a licensed clinical psychologist who has published over 40 articles and book chapters in the areas of psychotherapy research, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and developmental psychology. Dr. Samstag teaches courses in research design, psychotherapy research, child and adult developmental, as well as clinical practica, and she is a clinical supervisor and Director of Research in the Psychological Services Center at LIU Brooklyn. Since 2004, Dr. Samstag has been an associate editor and book review editor of the journal, Psychotherapy, a publication of the American Psychological Association’s Division of Psychotherapy. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
