Description

I am a dynamic, passionate teacher who enjoys the challenges of teaching young minds about the wonders of the world. During my professional career as a nurse midwife, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Ruth Lubic, who was the director of The Maternity Center of NYC, and who was instrumental in the development of my career as a nurse midwife. I have delivered 3,000 babies since 1992-2000 and later became a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner for Planned Parenthood for fiftteen years which included male services. I later trained as sexual assault nurse examiner at Drexel University’s Forensic Nursing Certificate Program. I am currently conducting my doctoral dissertation research study at LIU School of Nursing. I have been the academic adviser for the nursing students from the University of Valencia, School of Nursing and have guided these students into our nursing program. I enjoy using visual learning techniques and teach with a variety of engaging strategies in the classroom. I am proficient in Spanish and Italian and have taught Spanish for Health Care Professionals as an elective course at Columbia’s Nursing Program. I also served as a flight nurse in the United States Air Force for four years.
