Sarah DeCamp,Associate Director of Public Relations
The ASHA Dance Company will present Season of the Woman on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. at Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at LIU Brooklyn. In honor of Women's History Month, ASHA Dance Company will dedicate this production to those unrecognized women who labor heavily and dedicate themselves to others.
Founded in 2011 by choreographer Nadia Joseph, ASHA Dance Company seeks to share and explore the art of dance through choreography that brings history, imagination, spirituality, and awareness of our everyday life to the surface. The company, along with guest performances by the Indorican Multicultural Dance Project, will showcase their versatile repertoires in this performance.
“Using solid, evocative, yet supple movements, the dancers will shed light on the unheard women of the world—women who, in spite of their unfortunate circumstances, still manage to carry themselves with grace, respect, dignity, and humbleness,” said Joseph.
Tickets are now on sale for $20 ($15 for students with ID) and can be purchased at kumbletheater.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=629517. For more information, visit ashadancecompany.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
