Two New LIU Pharmacy Directors Named

Dr. Stephen Gross, dean of LIU Pharmacy (The Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) at LIU Brooklyn, announced two administrative appointments.
Dr. Rutesh Dave will serve as director of the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dave, a tenured member of the faculty who joined the university in 2008, has been teaching in the area of pharmaceutics with special emphasis in industrial pharmacy. He currently oversees three research institutes at the college.
In addition, Dr. Anna Nogid has been appointed to director of the Division of Pharmacy Practice, the college’s largest division with more than 30 full-time faculty members and clinical affiliations with about 25 hospitals and medical centers as well as approximately 400 community pharmacies. Nogid is a clinical faculty member who served on the Medical ICU Team based at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center where she was involved in the pharmacokinetics service.
Of the appointments, Dean Gross said, “Rutesh Dave has an exemplary record of service to the college and has established himself as a leader in the college’s research efforts. Anna Nogid has demonstrated outstanding leadership and organizational abilities in managing the Division of Pharmacy Practice. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Rutesh and Dr. Nogid and providing them with our support and recognition.”
He added: “At the same time, we extend our thanks and appreciation to Dr. Anthony Cutie, who was serving as director of both of these divisions. Dr. Cutie will be taking a year’s sabbatical leave before returning to faculty. For more than four decades, Dr. Cutie has been an acknowledged leader of the faculty, serving in a variety of administrative positions. He has received every award possible for his teaching, research, and service to the college and university. We wish him the best during his sabbatical and look forward to his return.”
