Brooklyn, N.Y. – WABC-TV, the FBI and the New York City Department of Education are among the more than 75 employers already signed up to participate in the Best of Brooklyn Job/Internship Fair at LIU Brooklyn on April 18.
Students and alumni of seven participating colleges can tap into the expertise of these top professionals from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the Arnold & Marie Schwartz Gymnasium at LIU Brooklyn’s downtown Brooklyn campus, located at the corner of Flatbush and DeKalb Avenues.
Stephanie Steinberg, assistant dean for career services and senior year advising at LIU Brooklyn noted that despite a slowly recovering economy, employers are “eager to tap in the qualified talent we have in our universities right over the bridge in Brooklyn.”
She added, “With this fair, our goal is to assist employers with their recruiting needs for full-time and part-time employees and to give our students an opportunity to secure internships and jobs.”
Along with LIU Brooklyn, the other participating institutions include Brooklyn College, Kingsborough Community College, Medgar Evers College, NYC College of Technology, St. Francis College and St. Joseph’s College.
Representing a full range of industries, the employers at the fair also include Astoria Federal Savings, UNIQLO USA, Visiting Nurse Service of NY and Municipal Credit Union.
“The Best of Brooklyn Job Fair is one of many services that LIU Brooklyn offers to students to support their career development,” Steinberg said. “We also have a great collaboration with our partnering colleges.”
To be admitted to the fair, students must be enrolled in or be an alum of one of the seven participating colleges. Students must wear business attire, present their student ID and bring copies of their resume.
