Musical Comedy Actress, Christine Pedi, to Lampoon Broadway Divas at Brooklyn Campus

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Christine Pedi, star of off-Broadway’s NEWSical the Musical, will perform at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus on Thursday, March 3, at 6 p.m. in the Campus’ Spike Lee Screening Room, LLC 122. The event is free and open to the public.
Pedi, accompanied by Matthew Ward, will turn her comedic and singing talents to “Deconstructing the Diva: Women in Broadway Musicals.” Her appearance is sponsored by the Brooklyn Campus’ Gender Studies and Honors programs.
The multitalented Pedi has worked on and off Broadway. On Broadway, she has appeared in Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio. She earned a Drama Desk nomination and an LA Ovation award for her work as a musical theater singer and comedienne in the satirical revues, Forbidden Broadway and Forbidden Hollywood. In her current show, Newsical the Musical, she spoofs a whole new stable of characters.
Her cabaret show, Great Dames, won the 2008 New York NightLife Award, a Backstage Bistro Award, an MAC nominaton and a mention on BroadwayWorld.com’s “Top Ten Memorable Theatre Moments of the Year.”
Pedi also hosts “The Broadway Breakfast” on Sirius/XM Radio, where she plays stage and screen music and interviews show business legends.
