Brooklyn, N.Y. - Starting October 9, Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus will host Saturday classes as part of the Campus’ Children’s Academy. The 10-session program will offer fitness, academic and creative activities for kids age 3-12 and their parents. Activities will be held in facilities across the 11-acre, meticulously landscaped, gated campus, including the $45-million Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center (WRAC).
Fall session classes include: Spanish for Kids, Robotics, Movie-Making, Live Theater and Basic Swim. With the purchase of a family membership parents can register for Yoga, Total Body Workout, Urban Dance or Spanish classes or access the WRAC on membership days.
The Campus will conduct an open house on Saturday, September 25, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m in the Wellness, Recreational and Athletics Center. Parents and children are encouraged to bring a bathing suit and swim cap to experience the pool during the open house.
“The children who participated in our first annual summer camp had such an amazing time that we want to extend the experience year round” Brooklyn Campus Provost Gale Stevens Haynes said. “We hope that families will become members of the Long Island University Brooklyn Community.”
