Spellbinding Dance Performances to Take Place in July at Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Two vibrant dance groups — Genesis Dance Company and Young Dancemakers Company — will present exciting dance works at Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus in July.

Genesis Dance presents: Chasing a Dream
Celebrating nine years of the successful union of technique and artistry, Genesis Dance Company will present “Chasing a Dream,” featuring works by founder/artistic director, Karen L. Arceneaux. The evening will also include thrilling works by the company’s own Chellamar Bernard and guest choreographer, Kim Brown. In addition to the talented dancers of Genesis Dance Company, the season will feature students from Arceneaux’s Ailey Extension classes in New York and dancers from Christ Church in New Jersey.
Tickets: Adults: $20, advance sale/$25 at the door; children ages 5-17 and students with valid ID: $15, advance/$20 at the door; senior citizens: $10, advance/$15 at the door.

Young Dancemakers Company in association with Kumble Theater present: City Teens Are Dancing Around Town, a free concert of excitingly original dance works plus excerpts of choreography by Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, created and performed by an ensemble of New York City teens. City Teens are Dancing Around Town is directed by Alice Teirstein, with percussion by music director, William Catanzaro. A post performance will include lively dance-making with the audience.
