IMPACT Repertory Theatre – “The Long Walk to Freedom”
Harlem's acclaimed and award-winning IMPACT Repertory Theatre performs “The Long Walk to Freedom,” an array of songs and dramatic vignettes highlighting the accomplishments of the civil rights movement. The Paper Bag Players’ Great Mummy Adventure
Described as “the most original children’s theater in the country” by Newsweek, The Paper Bag Players perform shows that combine short plays, rousing songs, freewheeling dance, mime and audience participation. For “The Great Mummy Adventure” audiences will take an expedition to the land of the Pharaohs in search of a mysterious mummy. Suitable for ages 4-9. Tickets: $8. Dancewave Presents: Kids Cafe Goes to College
Dancewave presents: Kids Cafe Goes to College is a festival that gives aspiring young dancers a first-hand look at professionally-based college dance programs with performances by students at leading dance departments and distinguished high school dance groups. The program includes performances by the Dancewave Company, Dancewave Company II and Young Movers Ensemble. Participating university dance departments include Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus, The Juilliard School, Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, SUNY Purchase, Ohio State University, Marymount Manhattan, Adelphi University and Hunter College. Greeting the Arrival of the Tiger
Celebrate the New Year with exciting performances of Chinese traditional art and dance at the New York Chinese Cultural Center’s annual lunar New Year Festival. The LIU Department of Communication Studies, Performance Studies and Theatre and John Sannuto, Director of Theater, present “It’s a….Baby!” written and performed by Cara Restaino.
