Award-Winning Author and LIU Brooklyn Alumnus Publishes Poetry Book
Celebrate Willie Perdomo’s new book with a reading from him on April 2

An alumnus of the creative writing program at LIU Brooklyn, Willie Perdomo (M.F.A. ’12), has published a new book, The Essential Hits of Shorty Bon Bon (Penguin Poets, 2014).
LIU Brooklyn is co-sponsoring an event to celebrate his new book, with a reading from Perdomo, followed by a discussion with LIU professor Jessica Hagedorn, at the Greenlight Bookstore on Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the Greenlight Bookstore (686 Fulton St., Brooklyn, N.Y.). The event is free and open to the public.
Perdomo is also the author of Smoking Lovely (Rattapallax, 2003)—a winner of the PEN Beyond Margins Award; and Where a Nickel Costs a Dime (W.W. Norton, 1996)—a finalist for the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award. His poems have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, BOMB, Mandorla, and African Voices. He is an instructor of English at Phillips Exeter Academy.
