The names of four little girls, Denise McNair, 11; Carole Robertson 14; Addie Mae Collins, 14; and Cynthia Diane Wesley, 14, who are murdered when the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama is bombed on Sunday September 15 are seared into the nation's conscience. This deadly church bombing proved to be a turning point of the 1960's Civil Rights Movement. This play will be read by noted theater professionals and will also include a talk back with Civil Rights Movement activists. This will be the kickoff of the Project Young Voice initiative that will partner Project1VOICE with organizations across the country to present simultaneous one day presentations of "Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963" by Christina Ham starring America's youth, on the 50th anniversary of the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church on Sunday, September 15, 2013.
