Registration of Vehicles & Parking Permits

All motor vehicles and motorcycles that are owned and/or operated by members of the LIU Brentwood community are required to be registered with the university. Students may register their vehicles at the Student Services Office, LIU Building suite 119. There is no charge for this service. Parking permits must be affixed to the left (driver's) side rear window. All motor vehicles without a properly affixed parking permit will be summonsed. Vehicle registration makes it possible for Public Safety to contact you in case of an emergency. For Suffolk County Community College parking rules and regulations click here.

Student ID Cards

Every student at LIU Brentwood is issued an LIU photo ID card (LIU Card). Students may obtain their LIU Card at the Student Services Office, located in the LIU Building suite 119.  At the beginning of each term and at the Orientation program, staff are available to take student ID card pictures. If you lose your card, there is a $10 replacement fee.

Emergency Closing

In the event of an emergency (closing due to inclement weather, etc.), LIU Brentwood’s emergency information will be communicated to students, faculty and staff via notifications to their official Long Island University e-mail account, general announcements on the LIU Brentwood homepage www.liu.edu/brentwood, via the University's emergency telephone line 516-299-EMER, as well as through local television (News 12 Long Island) and radio stations. LIU Brentwood students should log in regularly to the My LIU web portal as it is the University’s primary method for delivering emergency information to students. Access to My LIU is available at my.liu.edu.
