All applications and requested materials (i.e.application, transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal statement) should be submitted to the LIU Brentwood Graduate Admissions Office.
To apply for admission please follow these steps:
1. Long Island University Online Application for Admission
Applicants must complete the Online Application for Admission. The application can be obtained by clicking on the above link or selecting the Apply Now button in the upper right-hand corner of this page. A print version of the Application for Admissions can be downloaded from our website. Graduate Application Still Pending You can also request that a graduate application be mailed to you by calling (631) 273-5112 or emailing email@example.com.
Request official copies of your undergraduate and/or graduate transcript(s) from any college(s) you have attended with a GPA of 3.0 overall and 2.75 in major. You may have the transcript(s) sent directly to the LIU Brentwood Admissions Office, or you may wish to have them sent to you. In that case, you should submit the transcripts in the original sealed envelope ad part of your application packet. Photocopies or student copies are not considered official. Applicants who will have not completed their degrees prior to admission deadlines should submit a transcript without the final semester's grades. Such applicants may be accepted pending receipt of their final transcript showing degree earned. International students should refer to the transcript requirements. If you hold a degree from outside the United States your official records of all post-secondary education must be translated by an approved organization such as World Education Services (WES). You may purchase this translation by contacting WES, www.wes.org or telephone at 1-800-937-3895. Request a course-by-course translation with conversion of all grades into a U.S.4- point scale with U.S. degree equivalencies. This translation must be received by the Office of Admissions in an envelope sealed by WES.
3. Letters of Recommendation
Submit two professional and/or academic letters of recommendation that address your potential for success in the profession and your ability to complete a graduate program. Letters of recommendation should be from an academic source, preferably a professor or academic official who is familiar with your academic history and achievement. If you have been out of school for several years, recommendations may come from your employer or supervisor. The references should be given the Letter of Recommendation (link to BW Rec. Form) signed by you, along with a stamped envelope addressed to: Graduate Admissions, LIU Brentwood, 100 Second Avenue, Brentwood, New York, 11717
4. Personal Statement
Submit a statement of approximately 500 to 1,000 words describing your reason for pursuing graduate study at LIU, your personal and academic background, relevant experience, and your professional goals. You may submit this statement as part of the Online Application for Admission, or follow at a later date as a hard copy.
5. Submit GRE Results
If applicable (see Admission Requirements on left-hand navigation bar) submit the results of the Graduate Record Exam. Inquiries concerning this testing program and application to take the test should be addressed to the Graduate Record Examinations, Educational Testing Service at www.gre.org, or call 1-800-GRE-CALL. Ask ETS to send an official copy of your scores to the LIU Brentwood Graduate Admissions Office. The institution code for the LIU Brentwood is 2070.

The minimum TOEFL score for admission: 79 Internet-based score (197 computer based, 527 paper-based score) or minimum IELTS score for admission: 6.0 (effective Spring 2012) prior to enrolling in any academic coursework.
