For more than 25 years, the Westchester Graduate Campus of Long Island University has offered graduate degree programs in Westchester County. On April 19th, the institution will mark the opening of its new facility on the campus of Purchase College, State University of New York with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The opening of this center, and the quality of the degree programs it offers, reflect the University’s continued commitment to provide the highest level of graduate education to the County’s residents.

The center’s dynamic design combines state-of-the-art technology with eye-catching aesthetic appeal. Smart classrooms feature Internet connections, laptop accessibility, the latest multimedia capabilities and ergonomically designed seating. Glass-enclosed lounges provide inviting spaces for students and faculty to meet, study or just relax. Ample parking, a valuable commodity on any college campus, is just steps away. Westchester students also can take full advantage of all that the Purchase campus had to offer, including the library as well as cultural events at the Neuberger Museum and The Purchase Performing Arts Center.

The mission of the Westchester Graduate Campus, to provide a supportive learning environment for adults pursuing graduate degrees, is realized throughout every aspect of the student experience. Course schedules are tailored to fit the needs of busy working professionals. Most classes meet once a week in the late afternoon or early evening. Saturday classes and intensive one-week summer courses also are available, and administrative offices are open on Saturdays for registration and academic counseling. Long Island University’s on-line library catalog system, which offers access to more than 2.7 million volumes, makes it easy for working professionals to do research from home, logging on at their convenience.

Westchester students will find the best of both worlds right in their own backyard—the personalized attention of a neighborhood college campus, coupled with the proven standard if academic excellence of the eighth-largest private university in the country. The Campus offers outstanding graduate programs in: education, including teaching, school counseling and school psychology; business administration; health administration; health sciences, including athletic training, exercise physiology, and coaching and conditioning; and industrial pharmacy.
