LIU Pharmacy Students Celebrate Annual White Coat Ceremony

On Sunday, March 20, 195 student pharmacists of the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy were donned with their white coats at the Annual White Coat Ceremony. With over 1,100 in attendance at the Paramount Gym, the students received greetings from Leon Lachman, chair of the Council of Overseers, Jeff Kane, vice president for academic affairs, and John Pezzuto, dean of the College. The keynote speaker was Lucinda Maine, EVP and CEO of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. The audience heard enthusiastic remarks from the class president, Cheryl Louie, who honored Patrick Campbell for his commitment and dedication to the class. Kenza Benzeroual, assistant dean for academic and student affairs, served as the master of ceremonies. After receiving their white coats, student pharmacists cited the Oath of the Pharmacist, signifying their commitment to the profession, as they will soon be receiving their intern licenses from the state of NY.
