Over 80 LIU Brooklyn students participated in two workshops hosted by artists Steven and William Ladd. Our student’s creations will contribute to a 40x40 foot mural that will be permanently featured in the New City Point Mall in downtown Brooklyn. The mural will consist of over 500 blown class beans and 30,000 handmade paper-mâché beads made from recycled paper collected from around the area. The artists hosted two workshops in the Avena Lounge, teaching students how to make the beads and then taking photos to be included in brochure and City Point advertisements. The students will also be attendance for the grand opening later this spring. LIU is the first college or university to partner with this project. For more information on the artists, visit www.scrollathon.com.
