Checklists for Graduates

College Rings

A representative from Balfour will be taking orders for college rings at the Bookstore on the following days:

February 19 & February 20, 2014 from 12 p.m. - 5p.m.
April 2 & April 3, 2014 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Cap & Gown Purchase

The black cap and gown, which you wear for Commencement, has a long tradition. Caps, gowns and hoods were first worn at university functions in Europe during the Middle Ages when monks and students found them necessary for warmth in the cold and drafty castles and centers of learning. Until well into the nineteenth century, it was customary for many American college students to wear gowns while in daily residence or at meals. This practice has ceased to exist and, except for some British and European schools, few colleges request students to wear gowns except at Commencement Exercises.

Purchase Caps and Gowns from the Campus Bookstore from March 24 to April 25.

Prices including tax are:

Undergraduate $50.02
Master's $90.66
Doctoral $108.38

Hours:

Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Payment must be made at the time of purchase. Cash, check or credit card is accepted. Make checks payable to Barnes and Noble. If you have any questions, please call the bookstore at (516) 299-2639.
