From March 26 to April 27 you can pick up four Commencement invitations at the Bookstore, after you purchase your cap and gown. For those students who already have a cap and gown, a Bookstore staff member will check to see if you are listed as a September, January or May graduate before giving you the invitations.

Our ceremony will be held under a tent on the Great Lawn. Although tickets are not required to attend, seating under the tent is limited. We ask that you bring no more than four guests.

*Please note that you will not be permitted to save seats. No one will be permitted into the tent after 11:20 a.m. Therefore, please make sure that all of your guests are seated in the tent before 11:20 a.m.

People with Disabilities

People with Disabilities Degree candidates in wheelchairs will line up in Room 124, Humanities Hall. Wheelchair access to Humanities Hall is through the north entrance, facing the Library and Kumble Hall, or the south entrance, facing Hillwood Commons.

A signer for the hearing impaired will be at the Commencement Ceremony.

If your guests are in need of handicap seating at the main ceremony, please fill out the Handicapped Seating Form.

In the event of an emergency, medical services will be available in Room 114, Hillwood Commons, on Commencement.

Special Office Hours During Commencement

Diploma & TranscriptsDuring the Commencement exercises on Friday, May 10, the following offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with limited staffing: Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, Financial Assistance, and Academic & Career Counseling.

All other offices and departments will be closed during the commencement exercises so that faculty and staff can participate in, and assist with, the ceremonies.

All offices will close early at 4 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, May 13 at 9 a.m. (Please note weekend classes will continue as scheduled)

On commencement day, the following concessions are open

Starbucks: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Café: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Rain/Inclement Weather

The main graduation ceremony will take place under a tent on the Great Lawn RAIN or SHINE. Although tickets are not required to attend, seating under the tent is limited. Additional seating is available outside the tent on the Great Lawn. Guests and graduates should come prepared if inclement weather is expected (i.e. bring an umbrella, dress accordingly, arrive early).

There is indoor/sheltered seating at four locations on campus where guests can view the ceremony on TV monitors and video screens.
